Search the marking. Keep the uncertainty.
Enter a manufacturer and part number as printed, typed, spaced, or remembered. Kernspoke normalizes the input, then shows exactly what the source set does—and does not—support.
The method
A lookup should show its working.
The first category is deliberately narrow. That makes it possible to preserve the source trail, expose uncertainty, and build the data model for broader RFQ and BOM workflows later.
Normalize the marking
Spacing, punctuation, manufacturer aliases, legacy formatting, and slash-bearing identifiers stay visible rather than being flattened into a guess.
Show the record
The canonical part, product status, known specifications, and original description are separated from the submitted input.
Grade the gap
Cross-references remain candidates until technical evidence proves fit. Unknown is a useful result when the source set is thin.
Evidence standard
Unknown is a first-class answer.
Every material field is tied to a publisher, document title, URL, retrieval date, and locator. A source-listed relationship is not the same thing as a tested replacement.
The current preview is deliberately narrow so each displayed value can be traced to a source claim rather than presented as a compatibility recommendation.
